CLOUD OPERATIONS / Cloudflare

Cloudflare cf CLI

Pins Cloudflare's cf CLI skill, which tells an agent to search the local command index and to keep Wrangler when a Wrangler config is already present.

“Cloudflare's official cf CLI (beta) for the public Cloudflare API and Workers projects. Use for finding and running Cloudflare commands from the terminal — sign-in and profiles, cf cli search, cf schema, cf deploy/dev/build, resource commands for DNS, zones, D1, KV, and R2 — and for choosing between cf and Wrangler in a project.”

01 / THE REASONING

Why this made the selection.

  • The catalogue already has Wrangler, Workers, and Turnstile skills from this repository and not the cf CLI skill.
  • The file separates cf from an existing Wrangler project and says a non-interactive aborted delete can still exit 0.

02 / THE REVIEW RECORD

What we actually inspected.

Source review has boundaries.
A clear record is more useful than a “safe” badge.

Material inspected

  • skills/cf-cli/SKILL.md
  • README.md
  • LICENSE

Our findings

  • The skill says cf is in beta and that agents should search cf cli search, then inspect cf schema or --help, instead of relying on pre-trained command names.
  • It says cf keeps its own credentials, does not reuse a Wrangler login, and that unattended agents cannot finish cf auth login and should set CLOUDFLARE_API_TOKEN.
  • It says a destructive command without --force in a non-interactive session can print Aborted and still exit 0, so a zero status is not evidence the resource was deleted.

Not established by this review

  • The resource was not executed and its tools were not called.
  • cf was not installed.
  • No Cloudflare API call was made.
  • The documentation URLs in the skill were not opened.
  • Not executed: it was not installed or run.

The review applies to the material and revision named here. A newer upstream release can change its behavior.

DOCUMENTED COMMAND

npx skills add cloudflare/skills

Run in your terminal to choose your AI tools, project or global scope, and installation method. This short command follows the current upstream version; the review covers the revision shown above.

Optional: install the reviewed revision

Keeps the original source and installer version where recorded, while leaving your AI tools and installation scope for you to choose.

npx skills add https://github.com/cloudflare/skills
  1. The README's npx skills section is the command above and installs the repository's skills, not a cf-cli-only flag.
  2. The same README also shows /plugin marketplace add cloudflare/skills and /plugin install cloudflare@cloudflare for Claude Code.
  3. The skill table names cf-cli as the skill for finding cf commands and choosing between cf and Wrangler.

Before you start

  • Node.js 22.18 or later, as the skill states
  • A skills-compatible agent
  • A Cloudflare API token for unattended use, which this review did not create
