BUSINESS SYSTEMS AND DEVELOPMENT / Attio
Attio MCP
Attio's hosted MCP server giving AI tools secure access to the workspace: search, read, create and update people, companies, deals, tasks and notes, with meeting intelligence over call recordings and transcripts. OAuth as the Attio user; reads auto-approved, writes request confirmation.
“Attio MCP is Attio's hosted MCP server that gives AI tools secure access to your Attio workspace.”
01 / THE REASONING
Why this made the selection.
- The publisher hosts the server itself at mcp.attio.com, where every community Attio server found in discovery requires a local process and an API key.
- The permission model mirrors the Attio account and gates the write path: read operations are auto-approved while write operations request confirmation, so the read-only versus write boundary is enforced by the server, not the prompt.
02 / THE REVIEW RECORD
What we actually inspected.
Source review has boundaries.
A clear record is more useful than a “safe” badge.
Material inspected
- Attio MCP documentation overview: the server is hosted by Attio at https://mcp.attio.com/mcp; OAuth authenticates as the Attio user; read operations are auto-approved while write operations request confirmation; tool families cover records and objects, notes, tasks, deals and meeting intelligence over call recordings and transcripts.
- Attio MCP app page: prerequisites are an active workspace and an MCP-compatible client; setup is one-click connectors for Claude and ChatGPT or a custom connector URL for other clients.
- The documentation's data access boundaries: the server operates only within the workspace, shares the user's permissions, shares nothing externally unless configured, and all operations are logged and auditable.
Our findings
- The server is hosted; no official server source repository exists, so repository and revision are null per the hosted-server precedent.
- Meeting intelligence — searching call recordings, transcripts and meeting notes — is the surface no community Attio server matched.
- Correction, 2026-10-13: the overview page prints the URL https://mcp.attio.com/mcp but no JSON client block, so the earlier configExample, which no cited page printed, was removed.
- Write tools listed on the overview include delete-task, delete-comment (comments the user created), merge-records and update-list, which can change a list’s permissions.
Not established by this review
- No workspace was connected and no record, note or task operation was executed.
The review applies to the material and revision named here. A newer upstream release can change its behavior.
03 / PUT IT TO WORK
Connect a server deliberately.
- In Claude Desktop or Claude.ai, open Settings > Connectors, browse connectors, search for Attio and install.
- In ChatGPT, open Apps, search for Attio and connect.
- For other clients, add https://mcp.attio.com/mcp as a remote MCP server and complete the OAuth sign-in.
Before you start
- An active Attio workspace.
- An MCP-compatible AI client.
