The generated catalogue in the same README names 30 distinct browser_* tools. Neither count was confirmed by starting the server. - The documented client URL is a placeholder, https://[my-mcp-url].workers.dev/sse. The remote endpoint cannot be pinned to this commit. browser_file_upload takes absolute local paths. No Worker was deployed. - The repository is archived. https://api.github.com/repos/cloudflare/playwright-mcp reported "archived": true on 2026-10-13, so the reviewed commit is the last one. - The example Worker in cloudflare/example/src/index.ts hands /sse and /mcp requests straight to the agent. That file contains no authentication check, so anyone holding the workers.dev URL reaches the browser tools. 02 / THE REVIEW RECORD ## What we actually inspected. Source review has boundaries. A clear record is more useful than a “safe” badge. ### Material inspected - README.md overview, deploy steps, VS Code install line and generated tool catalogue - LICENSE Apache-2.0 grant - cloudflare/package.json at the same commit - package.json at the same commit - cloudflare/example/src/index.ts at the same commit - GitHub repository metadata, 2026-10-13 ### Our findings - Transport stated for the client is SSE against a workers.dev /sse URL. - browser_click and browser_file_upload are marked read-only false. browser_file_upload takes absolute paths. - The repository is archived on GitHub (https://api.github.com/repos/cloudflare/playwright-mcp, "archived": true, checked 2026-10-13). The record is kept at its reviewed commit. - The README’s Claude Desktop block runs npx mcp-remote against the placeholder https://[my-mcp-url].workers.dev/sse. mcp-remote is a separate project the README links to. - cloudflare/package.json names the package @cloudflare/playwright-mcp at version 0.0.1-next. The root package.json still names @playwright/mcp by Microsoft Corporation, with repository microsoft/playwright-mcp, and builds with tsc. - cloudflare/example/src/index.ts routes /sse and /sse/message through serveSSE and /mcp through serve, and answers 404 for any other path.
